Gurdjieff's grave

Gurdjief was buried on the graveyard of Avon. the graveyard was a little hard to find
since there are no signposts showing the way. Gurdjieff's grave is to the far left of
the entrance to the graveyard. We were surprised with the size of the grave. It has
4 times the 'regular' place assigned to it. Supposedly his wife and his mother are
buried in the same lot.

The grave has no
fancy stuff on it, very unlike the other graves. It consists of a grass
lawn with 2 obelisk-like stones, a tree and a stone bench.

The tree has
outgrown the grave a bit.

Close to Gurdjieff's grave lies the grave of Catherine Mansfield. She
was a follower of Gurdjieff and died at the Prieuré. A
street in Avon was named after her.
